Please plan to attend the following FREE event. Even if you are not yet able to become a Mu Beta Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota member or if you do not wish to become a member, you are welcome to attend. You are cordially invited to attend the 2018 Mu Beta chapter of Chi Sigma Iota Awards/Induction Ceremony and End of the Year Celebration. Event begins at 6:00 P.M and will include snacks, a keynote from our honored guest, the presentation of CSI awards, and CSI Induction Ceremony.

We are honored to have as our as our keynote speaker Christie Jenkins PhD LPCC-S. Dr. Jenkins is a core faculty member in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Walden University. She is the Chief Executive Officer of the Family and Child Abuse Prevention Center with three locations covering two counties in Ohio. Dr. Jenkins has over 23 years of experience working with survivors of abuse and their family members. She has more than 10 years of experience as a counselor working with clients who cannot afford to pay for services. She is licensed in Ohio and Michigan as a counselor. She has published articles on animal-assisted therapy and has presented locally, regionally, and nationally on domestic violence, sexual abuse, Animal Assisted Therapy, self-care, burn-out, vicarious trauma, and resilience. Dr. Jenkins is also very involved in professional counseling organizations. She is the past president of the Ohio Association for Counselor Education and Supervision and was the recipient of the 2014 Counselor of the Year award from the Ohio Counseling Association.

Dr. Jenkins' keynote will not be the same as the workshop offered earlier in the day.

The event will take place on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Western Michigan University, Sangren Hall Room 1710 (Address to locate Sangren Hall on car GPS, use 2050 W MICHIGAN AVE), Kalamazoo, MI 49008. You must park in Lot 41, which is behind Sangren Hall off of Central Campus Drive (D-6 on the campus map). Sangren Hall can be found at E-6 on the campus map. www.wmich.edu/maps/wmupmap.pdf.
